(NOTE: this diagram is for instructional purposes only – the real ballot will look slightly different)
The important thing is to write-in the name in the correct spot under Mayor. Don’t Forget to color in the circle so that it counts as a vote!
More About Write-in Candidates
What is a write-in candidate? Explained on Wikipedia – “A write-in candidate is a candidate in an election whose name does not appear on the ballot, but for whom voters may vote nonetheless by writing in the person’s name.”
And as our diagram shows, you must write the name of the write-in candidate on the designated write-in line under the title of the seat for which the candidate is running. In this case, Anne is running for Mayor.
The voter must also completely fill in the oval to the right of the write-in candidate’s name. If the oval is not filled in or filled in properly the voting machine may not properly register the vote.
Please share this article to help us get the word out about Anne’s candidacy and to instruct Amesbury voters how to complete a Write-In ballot.
Thank you to the many people who have reached out to me to support my write in campaign for Mayor. I am honored that my fellow citizens would consider an alternative to the status quo. I was asked to run by many and had not originally considered running. Amesbury is an amazing community! We have a vibrant history, great natural resources and a sense of community which I am so proud of. We have great schools and open spaces, historical sites and recreational area. I have been on the City Council for 8 years and during that time we have accomplished a lot. We have repealed the split tax rate, built a new DPW, renovated the water and sewer treatment plants. We have created Heritage Park in the lower millyard. We have become a Green Community and are working hard to create 2 solar sites which would create approximately 9 megawatt of solar energy. We have a 2 new playgrounds and a brand new splash park. Amesbury Soccer Association is working towards new soccer fields at Woodsom Farm. So much is going on in Amesbury and I want to help keep it moving forward. Lets keep that work happening
I want to thank everyone who was moved enough to put one of my signs up in their yard for the election. I wandered around and tried to get them all. If I missed one, just let me know and I’ll come over and get it.
Please vote for the I Am Pro Amesbury Candidates on Tuesday November 5, 2013!! Let’s keep moving Amesbury forward!
