Dear Neighbors,
Since moving to Amesbury in 1984, I have been committed to our community. My decision to run for a seat on the Municipal Council in 2007 was a continuation of my life-long belief that citizens can – and should – share the responsibility for making where they live a better place.

Many of you know me because I have helped bring your children into this world. As an obstetrical/special care nurse at Anna Jaques Hospital, I have had the privilege of sharing repeatedly in the magical moment of birth – a time when everyone in the room is pulling together as a team, full of optimism and dreams for the future.

Others of you know me for my 20+ years of work on the Amesbury Improvement Association – an organization that has planted trees, built playgrounds for our youth, and preserved and protected our open space and historic assets.

Lastly, others of you know me through one of my four wonderful daughters – ages 28 through 21. As a single mom, I have learned when to stand firm, when to bend, and how to listen. My youngest daughter is just finishing her final year in college, and I feel a great sense of pride and accomplishment, and confidence that all my children have a bright future.

These ideals – teamwork, flexibility, strength, and confidence in the future – are the same ones I intend to bring to the Municipal Council. For too long, our local politics has been bogged down with negativity. It’s time for a rebirth of true community spirit, optimism, common sense, and follow-through. With your votes, I will be there to help make it happen.
